Every day with AI is Judgement Day

We keep talking about Generative AI as if it's gonna be Judgement Day before we can collectively say "T-1000". And in a way it is, but not how we might think.

You see, Generative AI is great at, er, generating things... but it's not (yet) great at judging them.

That's where we – yes, me and you! – come in. You see, every time we use AI it is indeed judgement day. Because we get to make judgements every single day around what it spits back. It gives us stuff (loads of it, and really fast!), but we get to apply our own sensitivities on top.

It's not too dissimilar to overseeing the work of an intern who's fast and diligent, but inexperienced. These are literally toddler tools (less than 2 years old!), and it's our job to use our brain on top of their instincts.

So it's less that these tools will one day judge your work (though they might, in time, so be nice to them!). In the short term, though, the onus is still on us to (positively, constructively) judge theirs.
